Lions Gate Bridge National Historic Site Lions Gate Bridge, constructed in the late 1930s, connects mainland Vancouver with the North Shore. It is the longest suspension bridge in Western Canada, and the tower height is 111 metres (364 feet). Reconstruction and improvements have occured several times, but the bridge has retained it's original form and continues to be a well-known landmark of Vancouver.
