The market includes everything from a fresh-food market to specialty retail stores, a special children's section complete with a play area and fashions galore. Visitors enjoy variety and the excitement of waterfront shopping under one roof. Daily 9.30 a.m.-6.30 p.m., Fri. to 9 p.m., weekends to 6.30 p.m. Restaurants open later.

The Maritime Market is also the home of the Sport Fishing Museum, the Model Trains Museum and the Model Ships Museum.

The centrepiece of the Granville Island shopping experience, the Public Market features green grocers, butchers, bakers, fishmongers, importers, ethnic food sellers, craft vendors, sweet stands, florists and casual eateries. Fifty permanent vendors and a constantly changing array of farmers, artisans and cottage industry food producers are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. The Public Market is closed Mondays in January only.
